JABBERWOCKY

Jabberwocky is a grotesque comedy adaptation of Lewis Carroll's poem. Set in medieval Europe it stars Michael Palin as a gormless hero who is mistaken for a prince and sets off to slay a monster so awful that the local peasants would rather catch the plague than meet it. Jabberwocky was directed by Terry Gilliam.

JACK THE GIANT KILLER

Jack the Giant Killer is a fantasy starring Kerwin Matthews in a story about a Cornish warlord kidnapping the kings daughter in a bid for the throne. It was directed by Nathan Juran in 1962.

Joey Boy is a comedy set in the second world war. It stars Harry H Corbett and Stanley Baxter as a pair of petty crooks who join the army rather than go to prison. It was directed by Frank Launder.

Jubilee is a dark comedy portraying the British punk era. It stars Jenny Runacre, Little Nell, Toyah Wilcox and Adam Ant. It was directed by Derek Jarman in 1978.

JULIUS CAESAR

Julius Caesar is a Shakespearean tragedy starring Marlon Brando, James Mason, John Gielgud, Edmund O'Brien, Louis Calhern and Greer Garson in a story of political intrigue and honour set in ancient Rome. Julius Caesar was directed by Joseph L Mankiewicz in 1953.

Jumbo is a musical comedy starring Doris Day and Jimmy Durante in a story of a small circus struggling to survive against a ruthless rival. It was directed by Charles Walters.
